They say the twenties are the years in ones life for spiritual development and self-discovery on a soul level. I would have to concur. As I am living out my twenties, I have experienced more soul discovery than I could have ever imagined possible in one lifetime. These experiences have led me into the arms of Justin, who is my greatest inspiration to seek life’s truth. Second to him is the drive evoked by the pains I have experienced up until this point. May I never lose site of the love I have found and may I never forget what has brought me here.
I was born in Murrayville – Langley, right here in beautiful British Columbia, in 1981, roughly the twighlight before the dawn of the Aquarian age. I come from a ligneage of strong women from whom I believe I have inherited determination, independance of thought and deep passion. Granted, these three things can be rather overwhelming at times, but I seem to be handling it alright.
Presently I am finding a place to direct my focus, all the while exploring the ways we have done it for centuries: cultivating a home that expresses our deep connection to the earth, our passion and love for eachother and a soft place to land when one comes in from the cold. We wish, as any couple wishing to bring children into the world does, to be “ready” and to do it with as much grace as possible, as karma free and debt free as possible.
So for now, I’m a housewife, an urban homesteader! I’m learning the old ways of knitting, spinning, canning, making bread and cheese, knowing that somewhere in there is where i can put all of this determination, passion and thought to good use!
My pages will document my journey, and the tips and tricks I have learned along the way.
Love and Blessings,
Lisa Tilson

Hi Lisa,
You and I have never met, but I’ve known Justin since he was the beautiful little toddler pictured on his “old” website. I just wanted to say hi and congratulate you on your marriage to a great guy — which you obviously know — and on your choice of lifestyle. My former husband, David, and I did our generation’s version of “back to the land,” so I also baked and gardened and knitted and made our granola and yogurt, sewed kids’ clothes from recylced clothing, etc. It’s a great way of life and a great way to raise children. Mine are grown now, and it’s gratifying to see the ways their upbringing shaped them and made them fairly appreciative, aware young men.
I wish you well in all you two embrace! Happy Holidays,
Kate

I have looked at a number of your blogs and will do more reading later. It does seem that you are well on your way to being self-sufficient. I think the concept is neat; I personally cannot get past the bugs and spiders while working with the dirt. So I applaud you both for willing to go through all the time that it takes to learn all that you both must know. You certainly have wonderful result for your endeavors.
Love
Robin
