Looks like rain!Due to a 100% chance of rain and cold weather we have decided to move the wedding indoors. The wedding ceremony will now begin at 4 pm at Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co. Please arrive between 3:30 and 3:45. The reception will follow immediately.

There will still be a small civil ceremony at 2 pm at our apartment as the officiant’s schedule is inflexible. Our immediate family and wedding party is required to attend so please arrive at the regularly scheduled time. Bridesmaids 9 am. Groomsmen: 11 am. Don’t forget to bring accessories like socks, hair gel, etc.

Successful Stag Party

Justin | News, Wedding | 0 Comments

Tim posted his pics of our stag to his flickr site.

Kayaking was awesome. Dinner was simple and nourishing. Snatam’s concert was uplifting, dancing was fun and sleep was most welcome when I finally crawled in the door at 2:30 am. Thanks everyone for your generosity and sharing the day with me, it was perfect.

Parked for a Rest at the top of the Alex Fraser bridgeOur last couple of weekends have been action packed. We have been training for 600 kilometers of biking up the Sunshine Coast and Gulf Island hopping. We made a successful 80 km round trip to Delta to visit Lisa’s mom followed by a 160 km round trip to Mission for Lisa’s sister’s wedding. Both trips had their share of challenges.

Delta was navigationally challenging as the bike paths were convoluted and impossible to manage without help in areas. I was wiped by the end as we chose to take a “short cut” which added about 10 km of gravelly riding alongside Delta’s scenic Burn’s Bog.

Mission was a much more substantial test of our physical and mental stamina as the distance was a little beyond our comfort zone. The way home was a balmy 7 degrees celcius with a steady cold rain that permeated almost every nook.

Finally Leaving for Mission

Carbon Neutral Honeymoon Bike & Kayak Tour of the Gulf IslandsWe spent last weekend planning our human powered honeymoon. The fourteen day, 700 km bike and kayak tour will take us up the Sunshine Coast, over to Vancouver Island, North to Cortez Island, South to Denman Island and finally to Salt Spring Island. From Salt Spring we begin a four day guided ocean kayak tour with Sea Otter Kayaking before making our way back to Vancouver via Tsawwassan on Sunday June 30th.

Photographer at Last!!!

Justin | Wedding | 0 Comments

We have decided to go with Mark from Softlight Photography. His customer service was amazing, emails were returned immediately, he was at ease in our home (even though we sit on sheepskins on the floor) and took our PC vs. Mac comments gracefully! His work is beautiful, he has so much passion for his job and it really shows in his ability to capture great candid shots of guests. Marks lighting skills are excellent, the receptions shots (which I think are so important) were perfectly lit even though the rooms were dark.
I learned a very important thing from Mark: make sure your photographer takes pictures in RAW not JPEG.

Keep checking the gallery for engagement shots!
